A lot of the post that submitted we see frequently . The record was over 50 submissions of the same post in the same day. You can see this image in the slider above, it was the girl with a pink shirt that looked like she was sinking into the cement. This was definitely not the norm, but even seeing the same post submitted several times in a month can get old very fast.
Illusions is a large group, we often get a lot of submissions, most we seen numerous times over the years. We turn down more posts than we accept for this reason. No matter how we handle it someone won’t agree. This is what we get the most complaints about people are upset that their “real illusion” was rejected while some image they see as inferior was accept.
I can understand that sometimes having a post declined seems personal, but it really isn’t. If you’ve had a post turned down for being a duplicate you are unlikely to be the only person to have that specific post declined.
We don’t expect members to go through all the old posts to see if it’s been accepted already. But please don’t submit it again if you have seen it recently in the group. Also keep in mind that moderator are unpaid volunteers and we are not tracking when each and every post was last accepted or declined. We do our best but are human and do make mistakes.
We try to not accept an image again for a month or two sometimes longer when we’ve been seeing it repeatedly for years as we have with many of these images.
